Commercial Drive, Vancouver

On The Drive - An Urban Adventure!

First and Commercial, 1930s Commercial Drive, known locally as 'The Drive', is located in Vancouver, BC, Canada, just east of the downtown core and Gastown, where Vancouver began.

Originally called Park Drive, The Drive is the heart of commerce and community in the area officially known as Grandview - Woodland.

As the city's first suburb it has seen many changes over the years and is an area rich in history and cultural diversity.

To find out more about the community, the city, or the province, visit our Community section .

The " Neighbours " section features links to personal web sites of area residents. If you live in the area and want a link to your site posted, e-mail your URL to webmaster@thedrive.net. We'd be glad to have you aboard.

From day care to night spots, from health food to fast food, from men's wear to womyns wares, not to mention the renowned coffee bars, myriad of restaurants featuring cuisine from near and far, new and pre-owned clothing, new, antique and second hand furniture, live theatre, amazing events, audio/video, green space, head space.....

...see it for yourself! For kids and adults alike, The Drive has it all. Our intention is to expose ourselves (some of us are rather bold!) and share what we offer with the rest of the city, the country, and the world.

Virtual tour featuring 360 panoramic interactive images of The Drive is now underway.

A Java-enabled browser is required to see the panoramas. Go to either the Site Map or the Tour page to view them.
